Floor coatings in Evergreen
Our work in Evergreen centered on a custom metallic epoxy floor. Metallic systems use pigments that move and settle as they're worked, creating swirls and depth that look closer to polished stone than to a typical garage coating. No two are the same, which suits Evergreen homes, where many owners want something with personality.
Evergreen is close enough to the metro that it's an easy drive for SBV Concrete Coatings, but the homes here have mountain realities: steep driveways, snow, gravel, and garages carved into hillsides. Whether you're interested in a decorative metallic finish or a practical garage floor coating, we'll start with a close look at your slab and how you use the space.

Local know-how
What to know in Evergreen
Bergen Park, Kittredge and Hillside Homes
Evergreen spreads out along winding roads, from the Bergen Park area near Highway 74 down past Evergreen Lake and toward Kittredge, with neighborhoods like Hiwan in between. Homes are often built into slopes, so garages may sit below the main living level or be tucked under a deck. Many are older mountain homes with lived-in concrete, while others are newer custom builds. Walk-out basements, lower-level rec rooms and bonus spaces are common, and those are great candidates for a metallic or flake finish.
Gravel, Snow and Steep Driveways
Evergreen gets more snow than Denver, and many driveways are steep and treated with gravel or deicer through winter. All of that ends up on tires and boots and gets tracked onto the garage floor, where grit grinds into bare concrete. Cooler temperatures at around 7,000 feet also shorten the window for some installations, particularly in unheated garages. A durable topcoat makes it much easier to sweep grit out and keep the floor looking good through the season.
Lower Levels, Studios and Workshops
Because so many Evergreen homes are built into hillsides, lower levels often become living spaces: a game room, a home office, an art studio. A metallic epoxy floor is a popular way to make those slabs look intentional rather than unfinished. For woodworkers and hobbyists, a coated shop floor is easier to sweep and keeps sawdust and finishes from soaking in. Some Evergreen owners also host short-term guests, and a distinctive floor helps a space stand out.

Can a metallic epoxy floor go in a garage, or just indoors?
Metallic floors can go in both. Our Evergreen project was a custom metallic floor, and the look works well in garages, basements and living spaces. In a garage, we pay extra attention to the topcoat since it sees tires and grit. We'll help you decide whether metallic or flake fits the way you use the space.
Will gravel from my steep driveway scratch the floor?
Grit dragged in on tires can scuff any floor over time. A tough topcoat helps, and regular sweeping or a mat near the door makes a real difference. If your garage takes a lot of gravel, we may suggest a flake system, which hides minor wear better than a high-gloss metallic.
